6 killed in Israeli air strikes on South Lebanon

Beirut, Sept 5 (Petra) – The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on
southern Lebanon since Friday evening has risen to six and 23 were
wounded, the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Saturday.

Israeli jets launched a series of airstrikes on Nabatieh al-Fawqa
village and the Wadi al-Salouqi and Wadi al-Hujair in the south, as
well as Mansouri town in the Tyre district, according to a Lebanese
security source.

It said Israeli forces carried out several explosions on the
outskirts of Mansouri, using barrels containing powerful explosives,
which were heard in nearby villages.

Israeli Merkava tanks also shelled the town of Mefdoun, igniting
widespread fires, the source said.
