Amman, July 5 (Petra) – The value of exports covered by certificates
of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) increased by
25.2% in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period last
year.

According to chamber data, exports documented through these
certificates reached about JD 768 million, compared with JD 613
million in the first half of 2025.

The number of certificates issued also rose by 12%, reaching 20,548
certificates, compared with 18,354 during the same period last year.

The data showed that Iraq ranked first among destination markets by
value, with around JD 323 million across 1,343 certificates.
Switzerland followed with JD 92 million and 23 certificates, while
the United Arab Emirates recorded about JD 57 million across 4,917
certificates. Saudi Arabia came next with JD 43 million and Egypt
with JD 40 million.

Exports included several categories, led by foreign-origin goods
valued at around JD 361 million, followed by agricultural products at
JD 103 million, industrial products at JD 99 million, Arab-origin
goods at around JD 79 million, and other items.

A certificate of origin is a document used in international trade to
verify the country in which goods are produced, manufactured, or
processed. It is used by customs authorities to determine tariff
treatment and confirm product origin.

The Amman Chamber of Commerce issues certificates of origin for
Jordanian agricultural, animal, and natural resource products, as
well as for re-exported foreign goods and imported goods traded
locally under specific conditions. It also issues certificates for
Jordanian industrial products based on certified documentation
confirming origin in accordance with applicable regulations.
