Aqaba, June 30 (Petra) – The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority
(ASEZA) on Tuesday held its second consultative session on a project
by Al-Etihad Fuel Storage and Management Company to build liquefied
petroleum gas (LPG) storage tanks in the Southern Industrial Zone
(SIE) as part of environmental approval requirements.

Eman Kouz, ASEZA’s Head of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA),
said the project aims to expand the Kingdom’s LPG storage capacity,
strengthening energy security and supporting the development of fuel
infrastructure.

She discussed the importance of stakeholder and community
participation in environmental assessment processes, noting that
engagement helps define mitigation measures, ensure sustainable
development, and reinforce environmental protection and occupational
safety standards.

Al-Rawabi Environmental and Energy Consultancies presented key
findings from the EIA, including environmental management plans, risk
evaluation results, and proposed mitigation measures aligned with
international best practices.
