Arab Interior Ministers Council Condemns Iranian Attack on UAE Tanker in Hormuz

Tunis, Aug. 9 (Petra) — The General Secretariat of the Council of
Arab Interior Ministers condemned the targeting of a UAE oil tanker
by Iran while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement issued Sunday, the secretariat said it strongly
condemned reports of the targeting of the UAE tanker, which belongs
to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), describing the
incident as a blatant violation of international law.

The secretariat said the incident threatens the security of maritime
navigation, freedom of international trade and global energy
supplies, and undermines efforts to strengthen security and stability
in the region.

It strongly condemned the incident and reaffirmed its full solidarity
with the United Arab Emirates and its support for all measures taken
by the country to confront such threats, protect its interests and
assets, and safeguard its security, stability, territorial integrity,
citizens and residents.
