Amman, July 12 (Petra) — Several Arab nations on Sunday condemned
ongoing Iranian attacks targeting Jordan and Gulf states, as well as
commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation
Council (GCC), expressed his condemnation in the strongest terms of
Iran’s continued destabilizing behavior in the region. He denounced
repeated attacks affecting Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain,
Oman, Kuwait, and Jordan, alongside dangerous operations targeting
commercial shipping.

Albudaiwi said in a statement that Iran’s actions constitute a grave
violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and UN
Security Council Resolution 2817, while undermining maritime security
and freedom of navigation. He affirmed that the GCC fully supports
all measures taken by Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and
Jordan to strengthen their security, safeguard their sovereignty, and
protect their populations.

Qatar also strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks on its
territory and the territories of Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, and
Kuwait. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the
actions as a blatant violation of state sovereignty, territorial
integrity, international law, and the principles of good
neighborliness.

The Qatari ministry added that the continued attacks represent a
dangerous escalation that complicates efforts to defuse tensions and
undermines political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving
regional stability. It held Iran fully legally responsible for the
attacks and their consequences.

Yemen joined the condemnation of the renewed Iranian attacks
involving Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, and Jordan. The
Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the actions violate
international law, the UN Charter, and the Charter of the
Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, calling it a dangerous
escalation threatening regional stability.

The UAE also condemned in the strongest terms the renewed Iranian
missile and drone strikes targeting Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and
Jordan. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks
represent a flagrant violation of state sovereignty and a threat to
regional security, reiterating its full solidarity with the affected
nations.

Meanwhile, Oman summoned the Iranian Ambassador in Muscat, Mousa
Farhang, on Sunday to deliver a formal protest note following drone
strikes that targeted sites in Oman’s Musandam and Al Wusta
governorates.

The protest note was delivered by Khalid bin Hashel Al-Muslahi,
Undersecretary of the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs for
Administrative and Financial Affairs, during a meeting with the
Iranian ambassador, according to the Oman News Agency. Al-Muslahi
expressed Oman’s dissatisfaction with these irresponsible actions and
called for adherence to state sovereignty, good neighborliness, and
non-interference in internal affairs.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed its concern
regarding ongoing tensions impacting maritime security in the region.
The ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to international
law, respecting state sovereignty, and refraining from any actions
that escalate tensions or compromise the safety of maritime
navigation.
