Amman, Sep. 15 (Petra) –Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj.
Gen. Majdi Mohammad Harasis, on Tuesday patronized the graduation
ceremony of the second cohort of National Service conscripts.
Held at the National Service Center in Shweier Military Camp, the
event was attended by senior officers from the Jordanian Armed Forces
(JAF)– Arab Army and the draftees’ families.
The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
Attendees paid tribute to the National Service conscripts who lost
their lives in a traffic accident in the desert Highway recently,
wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
Talking at the ceremony, Director of the JAF Mobilization and
Popular Army Department said the graduation marks “culmination of a
comprehensive” training phase.
During this period, he noted that conscripts passed programs covering
military training, awareness, and life skills, as well as efforts
that contributed to enhancing their capabilities, refining their
characters, and fostering a spirit of discipline, teamwork, and
responsibility.
Holding a parade, the conscripts demonstrated hand-to-hand combat,
silent drill maneuvers and military exercises and activities,
reflecting the “high level” of training the conscripts had attained
during their service.
Concluding the ceremony, Harasis presented awards to “outstanding”
conscripts in recognition of their excellence during the training
period, in the presence of the batch’s families and senior JAF
officers.
