Britain condemns Houthi escalation in Yemen, attacks on Saudi Arabia

London, Sept. 10 (Petra) — Britain condemned the resumption of
fighting by the Houthi movement in Yemen and its recent attacks on
Saudi Arabia, including targets hitting civilian infrastructure and
the energy sector, holding the group responsible for worsening the
humanitarian crisis.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and
Development Office (FCDO) warned that the Houthi escalation threatens
regional stability, freedom of navigation, and maritime commerce
through the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

London reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia and the
internationally recognized Yemeni government, upholding their right
to defend their security and sovereignty in accordance with
international law, while calling on the Houthis to immediately cease
their attacks.
