China’s digital sector revenue reaches $3 trillion in first half of 2026

Amman, Aug. 31 (Petra) — China’s digital sector generated $3.08
trillion in revenue during the first half of 2026, marking a 13.6%
year-on-year increase, according to data released by the Chinese
Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The data, reported by Xinhua News Agency, showed that the sector’s
profits increased 19.3% year-on-year. The increase was attributed to
rising domestic demand for artificial intelligence products and rapid
growth in exports.

The profit growth rate was 10.3 percentage points higher than that
recorded during the same period last year, the agency reported.

Xinhua reported that 16 national-level high-end manufacturing
industrial parks have been established across China to date.

The added value of the electronics industry rose 14.8% year-on-year
during the first half of the year.
