Doha, October 09 (QNA) – Lusail coach Emmanuel Mesquita and Al Shahaniya coach Younes Ali confirmed their teams were ready for Saturday’s encounter in the fifth round of the Qatar football league (Doha Bank Stars League), stressing the importance of securing a positive result.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Mesquita said his team’s preparations had gone well during the international break, which provided an opportunity to improve technical aspects and give players sufficient time to regain their fitness. He affirmed that Lusail were looking to secure victory and claim all three points.
He added that Al Shahaniya were a good team with talented players, making the encounter a challenge for both sides. He noted that participation in the QSL Cup had allowed the coaching staff to field players who had not received sufficient playing time, helping improve their match readiness.
For his part, Lusail player Abdulhadi Al Aoun confirmed that the team had completed its physical and technical preparations, stressing the players’ determination to deliver a strong performance and achieve a positive result.
Meanwhile, Al Shahaniya coach Younes Ali described the encounter as difficult, given the good performances Lusail have been producing. He affirmed that his team was determined to continue delivering strong displays and securing positive results.
He highlighted that the break had allowed the coaching staff to prepare players who had not featured regularly, address mistakes made in previous matches and work on improving certain technical aspects. He added that all players were available and that the squad was free from injuries.
Al Shahaniya player Mohammed Surag said preparations for the match had been characterised by seriousness and focus, noting that the team had used the break to concentrate on technical details. He expressed the players’ determination to produce an improved performance and called on supporters to continue backing the team.
Lusail, newcomers to the Qatar football league, currently occupy sixth place with five points from one win, two draws and one defeat, while Al Shahaniya sit eighth with four points from one win, one draw and two defeats. (QNA)
