Economic Delegation Concludes Milan Visit, Explores Investment Partnerships with Italy

Amman, Sept. 17 (Petra)– A Jordanian economic delegation concluded
its programme of meetings in the Italian city of Milan on Thursday,
holding discussions with executives of companies and economic
institutions on investment opportunities in the Kingdom, ways to
expand partnerships between the two countries, and preparations for
active Italian participation in the Jordan–EU Investment Conference.

The intensive two-day program brought together Minister of Planning
and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, Minister of Investment
Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, Jordan’s Ambassador to Italy Qais Abu Diyeh, and
representatives of Jordanian institutions and companies operating in
the industrial, commercial, and financial sectors.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Investment on the
second day of the visit, the discussions covered opportunities for
cooperation in water desalination and treatment, telecommunications
and digital connectivity, and industrial sectors, including food
industries. The meetings also examined the alignment of these
opportunities with Italian companies’ plans for expansion in the
region.

A roundtable organised by Italian institutions ANIMA, ANIMP, and
Assolombarda served as a key component of the programme. It provided
an opportunity to present investment opportunities and discuss the
requirements for assessing and implementing projects with companies
possessing specialised industrial and engineering capabilities,
alongside business meetings to explore partnerships between the
private sectors of the two countries.

The discussions focused on combining Italian technology and expertise
with Jordanian production capabilities, while exploring opportunities
to establish projects that serve the local market and leverage the
Kingdom’s strategic location, investment environment, and trade
relations to access regional and global markets.

The participation of Jordan’s private sector enabled companies to
present successful investment and export experiences, discuss
partnership requirements directly with Italian business
representatives, and exchange expertise in production and business
development.

The programme included meetings with Vesia Italimpianti, a company
specialising in water desalination and treatment; RI Group, which
operates in prefabricated structures and units; and Sparkle, a
telecommunications and digital connectivity company. Meetings were
also held with representatives of Italian business institutions and
TUTTOFOOD, a trade exhibition specialising in food and beverages.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan
affirmed that expanding economic cooperation between Jordan and Italy
is based on shared values and well-established political and economic
relations.

She underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships between
the private sectors of the two countries and leveraging the
complementary advantages and capabilities of both sides to develop
projects that address development priorities and serve mutual
interests.

Toukan added that Jordan is moving forward with the implementation of
its development and economic plans, including strategic projects and
programmes supporting growth and infrastructure development. This,
she noted, is opening broader avenues for investment and cooperation
with Italian companies and enabling the use of their expertise in
projects delivering shared economic and development returns.

For his part, Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh said that
Jordan is a stable and reliable partner for European companies,
particularly Italian firms, and a gateway to expanding their
operations into regional markets.

He noted that the opportunities discussed aim to establish productive
and service-oriented activities that combine commercial viability
with knowledge transfer, increased exports, and the creation of
high-quality employment opportunities.

Abu Ghazaleh said the diversity of participating companies and
institutions allows investment opportunities to be explored through
multiple avenues, including project development, technology supply,
and the advancement of production-related services, in line with each
company’s capabilities, plans, and target markets.

He invited Italian companies and institutions to participate in the
Jordan–EU Investment Conference, scheduled to be held at the Dead Sea
on Nov. 19 under the Royal patronage, and to explore its investment
opportunities through sector-specific and business-to-business
meetings.

Over the course of two days, the delegation’s programme also included
meetings with Italian industrial and technology companies and a visit
to the MADE Smart Manufacturing Centre, as part of efforts to
strengthen Jordan’s position as an investment destination and a
production and export hub for regional markets.
