Cairo, July 23 (Petra) — Egypt “strongly” condemned an incursion
into Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar
Ben-Gvir, Knesset members and thousands of settlers under police
protection, calling it a flagrant violation of the historical and
legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement Thursday, Egypt
said continuation of such violations and provocative actions would
fuel tensions and undermine prospects for calm and stability.
The statement added that this Israeli policy would also ignite
further escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the
wider region, which threatenes regional security and peace.
