EU to Impose Counter Tariffs on US ImportsBrussels, 12 Mar (ONA) — The European Union (EU) today said that
it would impose “strong but proportionate” tariffs on US goods
starting in 1 April 2025, in response to the 25% tariffs imposed by
Washington on steel and aluminum imports, which took effect today.
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said “We
deeply regret this measure.”
“Tariffs are taxes. They are bad for business, and even worse for
