European stocks close lower

Amman, September 1 (Petra) – European stocks closed lower on Tuesday,
pressured by a sharp rise in bond yields and renewed tensions in the
Middle East, which heightened concerns over inflation as energy
prices continued to climb.

According to Bloomberg News, the French CAC 40 index in Paris fell
0.39 per cent, while Germany’s DAX index in Frankfurt declined 1.10
per cent.

In London, the British FTSE 100 index dropped 0.32 per cent, while
Italy’s FTSE MIB index in Milan fell 1.33 per cent.
