Toronto, Canada, July 03 (QNA) – Portugal qualified for the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 2-1 victory over Croatia at Toronto Stadium in the Round of 32.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Goncalo Ramos scored for Portugal in the 68th and 90+4th minutes, respectively, while Ivan Perisic scored Croatia’s lone goal in the 53rd minute.
With his goal against Croatia, Cristiano Ronaldo increased his tally to three goals in this World Cup and his overall World Cup scoring to 11. He also reached 976 career goals as a professional footballer.
Portugal will face Spain in the Round of 16 on Monday, while Croatia is eliminated from the tournament. (QNA)
