First Round of U-21 Federation Shield Concludes

Amman, Sept. 7 (Petra) –The first round of the 2026/2027 Federation
Shield Under-21 Tournament, featuring clubs from the Jordanian
Professional League, concluded Sunday evening. The tournament is
being held at Prince Mohammed Stadium.

The opening round saw Dawqara defeat hosts Al-Baqa’a 2-1, while
Al-Ramtha beat Shabab Al-Jordan 2-0. Al-Faisaly secured a 1-0 win
over hosts Al-Wehdat, while Al-Arabi defeated Al-Salt 3-1.

The round concluded with Al-Hussein defeating Al-Jazeera 4-3.

The tournament is designated for players born in 2005 and 2006, the
age group targeted by the Olympic national team. Teams are allowed to
field a maximum of four players from their first-team squad in each
match.

The Federation Shield Tournament is being held alongside the
Jordanian Professional League CFI. Its schedule follows the same
sequence of rounds and includes the same teams as the Professional
League, with matches between the same two teams in the Shield
Tournament scheduled for the day after their corresponding
Professional League fixtures.

The tournament will continue through the 18th and final round, in
accordance with the approved schedule. The team finishing first in
the final standings will be crowned champion.
