FM, German Counterpart Discuss Regional Developments, De-escalation Efforts

Amman, July 13 (Petra) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi received a phone call on
Monday from German Foreign Minister Dr. Johann David Wadephul, during
which they discussed regional developments and efforts to reduce
escalation and restore calm.

The two ministers stressed the importance of adhering to the
ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran and
highlighted the need for dialogue to reach a comprehensive solution
that addresses the causes of tension and supports security and
stability.

They also emphasized the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation
in the Strait of Hormuz.

Wadephul expressed Germany’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks
against Jordan and reaffirmed his country’s solidarity with the
Kingdom.

The two sides also underscored the strong relations between Jordan
and Germany and their commitment to continuing the development of
bilateral cooperation in various areas.

Safadi praised the longstanding friendship between the two countries
and Germany’s support for Jordan’s economic development efforts.
