Amman, July 30 (Petra)– Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi held a phone call on
Thursday with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International
Cooperation and Egyptians Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, as part of
ongoing consultations and coordination on regional developments and
issues of mutual concern.

Safadi condemned Wednesday’s drone attack targeting two vessels at
Egypt’s Damietta Port and reaffirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with
Egypt.

The two ministers strongly rejected attacks targeting civilian
infrastructure and vital facilities, stressing that such actions
threaten the security, freedom, and safety of international
navigation and global trade.

Safadi and Abdelatty also reviewed the latest regional developments
and efforts aimed at reducing tensions and restoring calm. They
underscored the importance of maintaining the ceasefire between the
United States and Iran, resuming negotiations, and prioritizing
dialogue and diplomacy to promote regional security and stability and
prevent further escalation of the conflict.

The ministers emphasized the need to intensify regional and
international efforts to de-escalate tensions and preserve peace and
stability across the region.

The two top diplomats also reaffirmed the importance of continued
coordination and consultation between Jordan and Egypt on regional
and international issues of common interest.
