Fourth Edition of Best Practices Award in Logistics Sector for
2027 Launched

Muscat, 8 Oct 2026 (ONA) — The Ministry of Transport,
Communications and Information Technology, represented by Oman Logistics
Centre, in cooperation with Oman Logistics Association, has launched the fourth
edition of the Best Practices Award in the Logistics Sector for 2027. The award
aims to promote innovation and sustainability and to raise the efficiency and
competitiveness of the logistics sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

The award seeks to encourage institutions and companies
operating in logistics activities to showcase and exchange best practices,
experiences and innovative solutions, thereby contributing to the development
of logistics operations and services, raising operational efficiency and
enhancing the competitiveness of the sector, in addition to supporting small
and medium enterprises operating in the sector.

The award allows participation by institutions operating in a
number of logistics activities, including warehouses and storage, shipping and
vessel line agents, air, sea and land transport, customs brokers, ports and
free zones, ground handling, and cargo agents.

The award comprises five main categories, namely Omanisation,
health and safety, net zero, continuous improvement and innovation, and Omani
products and services. These reflect the priorities associated with developing
the sector, enhancing its sustainability and strengthening its competitiveness.

The Omanisation category targets initiatives and practices that
contribute to raising the Omanisation rate and enhancing employment and
qualification opportunities for Omani talent in the logistics sector. The
health and safety category focuses on reducing accidents and risks and
promoting a culture of occupational safety. The net zero category addresses the
reduction of emissions and the enhancement of environmental sustainability. The
continuous improvement and innovation category focuses on the deployment of
innovative technologies and solutions to raise efficiency and productivity. The
Omani products and services category focuses on promoting the use of local
products and services and supporting local content.

Applications for participation will be accepted until 30 January
2027 through the award’s dedicated website “www.logistics-bpa.com”.
The results for the competing companies will be announced on Logistics Day.
