Paris, September 17 (QNA) – French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu proposed a 2027 national budget framework of 54 billion euros while warning that the deficit could reach 6.5 percent of GDP without immediate spending cuts.
Lecornu noted that maintaining tax stability will require securing an additional 10 billion euros next year solely to service debt amid rising interest rates.
Without intervention, social security costs will rise by 22 billion euros and local authority operational spending by 7 billion euros, imposing strict constraints on parliament and upcoming presidential candidates. (QNA)
