Amman, July 13 (Petra) – The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) on
Monday forged ahead with a campaign to remove illegal obstacles and
encroachments from public streets and sidewalks to improve traffic
flow and pedestrian mobility.
Unpermitted barriers restrict street capacity, causing bottlenecks
and traffic congestion across the capital, GAM explained.
The effort aims to reclaim public spaces, boost road capacity, and
ensure pedestrian safety, said city officials, adding that clearing
such encroachments will also restore Amman’s aesthetic.
