Grand Mufti attends Prophet’s birthday ceremony in Irbid

Irbid, Sept. 9 (Petra) — The Second Irbid Awqaf Directorate hosted a
religious ceremony at the Sheikh Ismail Abdo Mosque in the Arhaba
area on Wednesday to mark the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad’s
birthday, attended by the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Dr. Ahmad
Al-Hasanat.

In an address to attendees, Al-Hasanat stated that celebrating the
Prophet’s birthday serves as a vital occasion to reflect upon the
Prophet’s biography, character, and teachings, translating love for
the Prophet into practical adherence to his example of mercy,
tolerance, and integrity.

Al-Hasanat added that society must draw inspiration from the
Prophet’s guidance to strengthen family and community structures
while promoting values of moderation, virtue, and social solidarity.

Director of the Second Irbid Awqaf Directorate Sheikh Firas Abu Khait
remarked that the Prophet’s life provides an enduring framework for
faith and ethics. He stressed that commemorating the event should
inspire individuals to uphold Islamic values and pass these moral
principles on to younger generations.

Abu Khait also praised the role of local mosques in disseminating
Islamic knowledge, teaching the Prophet’s biography, and reinforcing
religious and civic values across the community.

The event concluded with traditional Islamic chants and recitations
highlighting key milestones from the Prophet’s life.
