Rabat, June 27 (QNA) – The 13th Human Rights Forum has opened on the sidelines of the 27th Gnaoua and World Music Festival, currently underway in the Moroccan city of Essaouira.
Held under the theme “Youth of the World: Freedom, Identity, Future,” the forum brings together senior officials, writers and intellectuals to discuss the challenges confronting young people amid rapid global transformations.
Speaking at the opening session, Senegalese philosopher and Columbia University Professor Emeritus Souleymane Bachir Diagne called for a fundamental reassessment of the role of young people in a world shaped by profound transformations and mounting crises. He also stressed the need to safeguard fundamental rights and ensure effective protection for migrants.
Participants also examined the impact of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, calling for more effective engagement with emerging forms of youth participation.
The forum’s opening session explored issues of freedom and youth participation in the context of a rapidly changing world that poses new challenges to the protection of human rights. (QNA)
