Amman, Sept 12 (Petra) – The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature
(APN), in cooperation with the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry,
distributed 400 GR irrigation pipe rolls to 28 mostly female heads of
households in the Jordan Valley region of Ghor Al-Safi.

The initiative, part of the “Empowering Ghor Al-Safi Farmers”
project, reflects the industrial sector’s efforts to boost
cooperation with the agricultural sector.

The “Green Caravan” team made a field visit to the beneficiary
families’ agricultural lands, and in the attendance of
representatives from the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry the
irrigation pipes were handed over to the farmers and their needs were
assessed on-site, the Amman Chamber of Industry said in a statement.

The pipes cover irrigation needs for about 8,000 linear meters,
helping families improve irrigation efficiency and make better use of
available water resources, while also reducing the cost of
agricultural production inputs, it said.

The statement noted that the APN, through the Green Caravan and its
private-sector partnerships, continues to direct support toward
farmers most in need, based on the principle that empowering farmers
to produce is an investment in the land and the community’s food
security.
