Initiative
Launched to Promote Financial Literacy

Salalah,
28 July 2026 (ONA) — The “Safe Investment Journey” initiative,
organized by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX),
and Muscat Clearing and Depository Company, embodies the efforts of the
participating institutions to enhance financial literacy and investment
awareness.

The
initiative is part of the events of the Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) season 2026
and will continue until the second of August at the Salalah Gardens Mall
commercial complex.

The
initiative seeks to spread financial literacy through an interactive experience
that simulates the investor’s journey. It begins with learning the basics of
investment and the procedures for opening an investor number, moving through
exploring investment opportunities and products, verifying licensed entities,
and monitoring the performance of investment portfolios, culminating in making
conscious investment decisions that promote safe investment and mitigate risks.

The
initiative includes a station titled “A Session with a Financial Advisor,”
allowing visitors to meet daily with specialists in the securities sector to
provide awareness guidance and consultations, and to answer their inquiries.
This aims to enhance their confidence and enable them to invest according to
sound principles.

The
corner also features a pavilion dedicated to children, offering a daily program
of educational and interactive workshops and activities under the supervision
of specialists in children’s literature. This includes storytelling,
educational games, coloring, competitions, and practical activities, with the
aim of simplifying financial and investment concepts, developing financial
awareness, and enhancing thinking skills and sound financial decision-making
among children in a manner suited to various age groups.

The
organizing entities affirmed that spreading financial and investment literacy
represents one of the fundamental pillars for building a more efficient and
sustainable capital market. They noted that raising the level of awareness
among investors contributes to enhancing market confidence, mitigating
investment risks, and consolidating the principles of transparency and
responsible investment. This supports the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 in
developing the financial sector and enhancing its contribution to the national
economy.
