Baghdad, Sept 12 (Petra) – Iraq on Saturday condemned drones attacks
launched from Iraq against Saudi Arabia, reiterating rejection of any
aggression that undermines the Kingdom’s security and stability.

Saudi Arabia said earlier that the East-West oil pipeline in the
Riyadh and Medina regions was targeted by several drones launched
from Iraq, resulting in casualties.

Sabah Al-Numan, spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi
Armed Forces, said the Iraqi government rejects any aggression that
threatens Saudi Arabia’s security and stability or harms the
deep-rooted and brotherly relations between the two countries.

He said the Iraqi government values Saudi Arabia’s response to Iraq’s
efforts to contain the situation, which reflects the Kingdom’s
commitment to Iraq’s security and stability.

Al-Numan noted that Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of
the Armed Forces, Ali Al-Zaidi, has ordered an urgent investigation
into the attacks and take legal action against anyone proven to be
involved.

He stressed that Iraq will not tolerate any activity that jeopardizes
Iraq or its relations with brotherly and friendly nations.

“Iraq reiterates that its territory and airspace will not serve as a
launchpad for attacks against any state. Its policy is based on
respecting national sovereignty, rejecting aggression against other
nations, and ensuring that relations with its neighbors serve as a
bridge for cooperation and stability rather than an arena for tension
and conflict,” he said.

In a phone call, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Saudi
counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan agreed to continue coordination
to support regional security and stability.
