Irbid, Sept. 1 (Petra) -Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI) announced the
value of its certificates of origin issued in August stood at
USD114.5 million, marking a 0.6% increase from the same period last
year.

According to the ICI’s data, 1,450 certificates of origin were issued
in August, representing a 1.3 percent surge over the 1,431
certificates recorded in August 2025.

Garments and leather products dominated exports, generating USD101.8
million. Food and agricultural products followed at USD5.25 million,
while chemicals and cosmetics, along with medical supplies, reached
USD3.2 million each. Remaining exports across engineering, plastics,
packaging, and construction totalled USD192,000.

The US was the top destination for Irbid’s exports at USD84 million,
followed by the Netherlands at USD3.23 million, Canada at USD3.02
million, Saudi Arabia at USD2.92 million, and Germany at USD2.62
million.

Securing the largest share, Al-Hassan Industrial Estate accounted for
USD110.6 million, then came exports of Cyber City at USD3.36 million
and ICI’s main office at USD557,500.

Nidal Sadr, ICI’s Director, attributed the growth to the sector’s
expanding international reach despite global trade challenges.

As for its current policy, he noted that the chamber is collaborating
with the government to enter new markets and diversify local exports.
