Occupied Jerusalem, July 14 (Petra) – Israeli occupation police on
Tuesday closed the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif in
occupied Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Governorate said in a brief statement that Israeli
occupation police closed the mosque’s gates under the pretext of
carrying out military drills inside the Al-Haram Al-Sharif
courtyards.

In a related development, more than 100 extremist Jewish settlers
stormed the town of Kifl Hares, northwest of Salfit in the occupied
West Bank, at dawn Tuesday and attacked Palestinian property.

The Kifl Hares Municipal Council said settlers raided the town under
heavy protection from the Israeli occupation army, vandalized
property, damaged vehicles, and attempted to attack homes.

Settlers also vandalized greenhouses in Burin, south of Nablus. The
Burin Municipality said armed settlers attacked the town and damaged
agricultural greenhouses on the main road belonging to a cooperative
society.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces launched a wide campaign of
raids, incursions, and arrests across several cities, towns, and
camps in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem. The raids triggered
confrontations in several areas, causing injuries and suffocation
cases after Israeli forces fired toxic tear gas canisters at
Palestinian citizens.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society said Israeli occupation forces
arrested 30 Palestinians after raiding dozens of homes and tampering
with their contents.

During the campaign, Israeli occupation forces detained several
Palestinians and subjected them to field interrogations after abusing
them for hours, it added. They also prevented Palestinian ambulance
crews from reaching a patient in Beit Furik, east of Nablus, after
closing a military checkpoint in the town.
