Amman, July 30 (Petra) – Jordan has launched the People-Centric
Digital Government Program for Results in partnership with the World
Bank, supported by a €50 million concessional loan from the Italian
government.

According to a Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation
statement issued Thursday, the launch follows the signing in May of a
financial arrangements agreement between the Jordanian government and
Italian development bank Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP).

The ministry noted that the agreement was based on an earlier
concessional loan agreement signed by Minister of Planning and
International Cooperation Zeina Toukan and Italian Ambassador Luciano
Pezzotti.

Under the agreement, the financing will support digital
transformation in Jordan’s healthcare sector, the ministry explained.

The ministry added that the loan is complemented by an Italian grant
of €800,000 to provide the Ministry of Health with technical
assistance, including monitoring and evaluation support.

According to the statement, the financing will support institutional
reforms and the development of a modern and inclusive public
administration.
