Amman, Sept (Petra) — Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation
(JEDCO) held a workshop on national integrity standards and
mechanisms for working with the National Integrity Index, a
corporation statement said Thursday.

The workshop, which was attended by representatives of the Integrity
and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC), JEDCO Executive Director
Ghaleb Hijazi and a number of corporation employees, is part of
efforts to strengthen cooperation with state institutions and
oversight bodies and promote integrity and transparency in the
institutional work environment.

The workshop was presented by Ruba Tarawneh, head of the Standards
and Compliance Division, and investigator Zuhair Ayasrah from the
JIACC.

The sessions covered key concepts and standards related to national
integrity, institutional compliance mechanisms and the application of
integrity standards in the workplace.

The workshop addressed the main national integrity standards,
including the rule of law, accountability, transparency, justice,
equality and equal opportunity.

The event also introduced the National Integrity Index, and its role
in promoting an institutional environment, based on integrity and
embedding an integrity culture across different levels of work.

Talking at the opening ceremony, Hijazi said embedding integrity,
transparency and accountability is “essential” to developing
institutional work and improving performance efficiency.

He said compliance with national integrity standards goes beyond
compliance requirements and constitutes an “institutional” approach
that builds confidence in the corporation and contributes to
improving the quality of its outputs and services.

Hijazi urged continued cooperation and coordination with the JIACC
and various official and oversight bodies to develop institutional
practices and raise awareness of integrity standards.

He said a “firmly” established institutional culture in this area
directly contributes to improving services provided to beneficiaries
and service recipients, in line with Royal directives and the
Economic Modernisation Vision.

In their active participation, JEDCO employees discussed the
application of integrity standards in the workplace and raised
questions on their implementation, helping strengthen awareness of
their role in improving institutional performance.
