Amman, August 2 (Petra) – The Restoring Hope Society, in partnership
with Qatar Charity, is continuing to implement a rehabilitation and
prosthetic limb program in Jordan for children injured in the Gaza
Strip, providing comprehensive medical and psychosocial support to
help them recover and reintegrate into their communities.
According to a statement issued Sunday by the Society, the initiative
targets children who have undergone one or more limb amputations,
offering medical treatment, physical therapy, psychological and
social support, and prosthetic limb fitting to improve their
mobility, independence and quality of life.
Restoring Hope Society Director General Bilal Abbasi said the project
forms part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program for people
injured during the war who lost limbs or access to specialized
rehabilitation services.
He added that implementing the program in Jordan complements the
Society’s work in the Gaza Strip, where follow-up care and
rehabilitation services continue after beneficiaries return home.
Qatar Charity’s Jordan office director, Darrar Maayta, said the
initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting those
affected by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, particularly children
facing long-term physical and psychological challenges as a result of
their injuries.
He said the project goes beyond meeting urgent medical needs by
helping children regain confidence and enabling them to rebuild their
lives and contribute to a more stable future for themselves and their
families.
The Society said the initiative adopts a comprehensive humanitarian
approach, combining rehabilitation with psychosocial support to help
children resume their education, daily activities and social lives.
The project, it noted, builds on Qatar Charity’s humanitarian and
development programs in Jordan, implemented since 2021 in partnership
with government institutions and civil society organizations. These
programs include social welfare, orphan sponsorship, assistance to
vulnerable families, humanitarian relief and economic empowerment
initiatives.
The Society and Qatar Charity reaffirmed their commitment to
expanding sustainable humanitarian initiatives that place people at
the center of relief efforts and help those affected by crises,
particularly children, rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
