Amman, July 6 (Petra) — The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission
(CARC) on Monday held the first meeting of the Joint Committee
established under the Euro-Mediterranean Aviation Agreement between
Jordan, the European Union, and member states, via video conference.

The Jordanian side was headed by Chairman of the Board of
Commissioners Daifallah Alfarajat, in the presence of a
representative of the EU Delegation in Amman and a wide range of
experts, specialists, consultants and technical officials from both
sides, according to a CARC statement.

The meeting marked a milestone in bilateral relations as the first
formal and permanent session of the Joint Committee since the
aviation agreement entered into force on Aug. 2, 2020, following
earlier preparatory meetings focused on establishing cooperation
frameworks, it said.

Alfarajat highlighted the strategic partnership between Jordan and
the EU across various sectors, particularly civil aviation, noting
that activating the Joint Committee will open new prospects for
economic growth, develop aviation infrastructure, and facilitate
passenger and air cargo movement in line with international safety
and security standards.

The meeting discussed an intensive agenda focused on outlining a
future roadmap for joint aviation cooperation.

At the conclusion of the session, the two sides held a
Government-to-Government meeting to finalize closing remarks, agree
on recommendations and decisions, and coordinate the date and venue
of the next committee meeting to ensure continued progress and
coordination.
