Amman, Aug. 3 (Petra) — The Jordanian field hospital (South Gaza/10)
held an open media day Sunday to highlight its medical and
humanitarian work for civilians in Gaza and its role in easing
pressure on operating hospitals, including Nasser Medical Complex,
which continues to receive between 700 and 1,000 patients daily.

The hospital’s commander said the “Restore Hope” initiative has
treated hundreds of amputees since its launch, concurrently with the
royal directive to evacuate sick children to Jordan for treatment,
and with an expansion of services that added seven specialist and
emergency clinics in the Tal al-Hawa area in northern Gaza.

Hospital Director said operations run on four primary axes:
emergency, specialized clinics, operating theaters, and the
prosthetics department.

He reported thousands of specialized surgical interventions,
including open-heart operations, and said the hospital receives 10 to
15 amputation cases daily and fitted about 300 prosthetic limbs over
the past two months under the “Restore Hope” initiative.

During the media day the hospital commander said medical teams have
performed more than 7,000 surgical procedures since the hospital
opened, stressing that security risks and challenges in the area will
not deter Jordanian staff from continuing their humanitarian and
professional duties in support of the people of Gaza.
