Jordan, Iraq Lawmakers Discuss Coordination on Regional Issues

Amman, August 6 (Petra) – Aref Saaideh, head of the Lower House Legal
Committee, met on Thursday with Iraqi Parliamentary Foreign Relations
Committee member Sara Allawi to discuss strengthening parliamentary
ties and coordinating stances on shared regional issues.

Saaideh pointed to the deep historic relations between Amman and
Baghdad. He stressed the need to expand parliamentary collaboration
and exchange expertise in legislative and oversight work.

Allawi affirmed the Iraqi Parliament’s commitment to deepening ties
with its Jordanian counterpart, lauding the growing bilateral
cooperation and the vital role of parliamentary diplomacy in serving
both nations.

Both sides agreed to maintain ongoing communication between
specialized parliamentary committees and align their strategies in
regional and international forums to promote regional stability and
joint Arab causes.
