Amman, July 23 (Petra) — A Jordanian delegation coordinated by the
Jordanian Nursing Council has concluded its participation in a
specialized training program on public health for developing
countries, held in the Chinese cities of Beijing and Kunming from
July 8-22, with the participation of 32 specialists from 10
countries.

Secretary-General of the Jordanian Nursing Council Hani Nawafleh said
the participation followed the directives of Her Royal Highness
Princess Muna Al Hussein, President of the Council, and aligns with
the Council’s efforts to strengthen international partnerships,
exchange expertise, and benefit from global experiences in healthcare
development and workforce training.

Nawafleh said the Chinese experience offers examples in areas such as
long-term health planning, primary healthcare, community health
management, emergency response, and healthcare workforce development.
He added that Jordanian-Chinese cooperation could be expanded in
public health, scientific research, digital transformation, and
artificial intelligence applications in healthcare.

He noted that the Council continues to develop the regulatory
framework for the nursing and midwifery professions through updating
legislation, improving national examinations, strengthening
continuing education, and developing professional competencies to
enhance the readiness of healthcare workers.

Deputy Chairperson of the Beijing Community Health Promotion
Association Zou Jianrong praised the Jordanian participation,
highlighting the relations between the two countries and expressing
the association’s interest in expanding cooperation with Jordanian
institutions in primary healthcare policies and capacity building.

The association’s advisor Dongsheng Li also praised the Jordanian
delegation’s participation in the program’s discussions and field
activities, noting the experience and qualifications of Jordanian
healthcare professionals.

The program included a presentation by Jordanian Nursing Council
representative Ashraf Al-Saudi on future areas of health cooperation
between Jordan and China, along with lectures and field visits to
healthcare institutions, traditional Chinese medicine centers, and
elderly care facilities.

The Jordanian delegation included six participants representing the
University of Jordan Hospital, Jordan Hospital, Al-Istishari
Hospital, Al Abdali Hospital, and Applied Science Private University.
