Jordan Pro League Curtain-Raiser: Al-Wehdat and Al-Faisaly Headline Blockbuster Opening Weekend

AMMAN, Sept. 2 (Petra) — The battle for domestic supremacy kicks off
in high gear tomorrow, Thursday, as the 2026/2027 Jordan Pro League
season gets underway with a 10-team battle for the coveted shield.

The opening matchday fires off Thursday evening at 19:00 at the Petra
Stadium in Al-Hussein Youth City, where Al-Baqa’a locks horns with
Douqara in a crucial early test.

The action intensifies on Friday night with a pair of heavyweight
fixtures. Shabab Al-Ordon welcomes Al-Ramtha to the King Abdullah II
Stadium in Al-Quwayisma at 18:00, before the capital comes to a
standstill at 20:30 for the ultimate El Clásico showdown between
arch-rivals Al-Wehdat and Al-Faisaly under the floodlights at the
Amman International Stadium.

Round one concludes on Saturday with two more compelling encounters:
Arabi takes on Al-Salt at the Petra Stadium at 18:00, while reigning
champions Al-Hussein Irbid begin their title defense against
Al-Jazeera at 20:30 at the King Abdullah II Stadium.

The CFI Jordan Pro League will be contested over an intense
triple-round-robin format, with the crown going to the side that
accumulates the most points across all three phases, while the bottom
two clubs face the drop to the First Division.

Defending champions Al-Hussein enter the new campaign with a target
on their backs after clinching last season’s silverware in dominant
fashion with a 62-point haul.
