Jordan, Qatar foreign ministers talk regional de-escalation efforts

Amman, July 27 (Petra) – Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs
Ayman Safadi held talks by phone on Monday with Qatari Prime Minister
and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin
Jassim Al Thani to discuss relations and regional developments.

The two ministers reviewed ways to strengthen Jordanian-Qatari ties
and expand cooperation across various sectors in line with the two
countries’ shared interests.

They discussed ongoing regional developments and diplomatic efforts
to de-escalate tensions and promote security and stability.

Safadi and Al Thani called for dialogue and diplomacy and the
implementation of the agreements reached under the U.S.-Iran
memorandum of understanding, including ensuring freedom of navigation
in the Strait of Hormuz.

The two sides reaffirmed Jordan’s and Qatar’s support for efforts to
reduce regional tensions and reach a comprehensive agreement that
addresses the root causes of instability and promotes lasting peace
and security.
