Jordan to Host First Arab World Freight Alliance Conference

Amman, Sept. 7 (Petra) — The Amman-based Arab World Freight Alliance
(AWFA) will hold its first conference later this month, with 100
companies from 18 Arab countries taking part in what organizers
called a key step toward building an integrated Arab transport and
logistics network.

The conference will see the launch of the first Jordanian-Arab
platform to boost cooperation and partnerships among companies and
institutions in freight, customs clearance and logistics across
Jordan and the Arab world, helping develop trade movement and supply
chains and link Arab and global markets, AWFA chairman Odeh Ramahi
said in a statement on Monday.

The platform, he said, aims to bring together various players in the
logistics sector under one umbrella, opening new opportunities for
members to collaborate commercially, exchange expertise, build
partnerships and improve the efficiency of logistics operations
through an integrated Arab and international network.

Ramahi said Jordan’s choice to launch the AWFA and its first Arab
platform for freight, customs clearance and logistics services
underlines the kingdom’s status as a hub linking Arab markets and
supporting regional trade, transport and logistics.
