Amman, July 22 (Petra) The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department
(DVLD) on Wednesday announced the completion of procedures for its
comprehensive digital transformation, finalizing the transition
toward electronic services in line with ongoing public sector
modernization plans.

The department confirmed that the issuance of physical plastic and
paper cards for driving licenses, vehicle registrations, driving
permits, and instructor permits will permanently cease starting
Sunday, August 2. Moving forward, official digital documents will
serve as the legally recognized proof of licensing.

According to the DVLD, citizens and residents can present their
electronic documents via approved digital channels whenever required.
Individuals who do not hold an active digital license following the
August 2 deadline can access their official documentation by
activating an account on the national digital platform “Sanad”, by
visiting the official DVLD portal to receive a text message
containing a PDF copy with a secure QR code, or by visiting any DVLD
branch to process the request through comprehensive service officers.

The department noted that all physical plastic and paper cards will
be fully phased out and rendered obsolete by January 1, 2027. The
DVLD urged the public to activate their “Sanad” accounts to ensure
uninterrupted access to licensing records, emphasizing that the move
aims to streamline administrative processes, eliminate paperwork, and
enhance overall service delivery.
