Jordan’s telecom operators launch joint tree-planting initiative in Jerash

Jerash, July 28 (Petra) — Jordan’s three mobile telecommunications
operators Zain Jordan, Orange Jordan and Umniah have launched a joint
tree-planting initiative in Orange Forest in Jerash Governorate to
mark World Nature Conservation Day.

The initiative aims to plant more than 2,000 forest trees,
highlighting their role in improving air quality, supporting
biodiversity, reducing soil erosion and increasing the soil’s
capacity to retain water.

The project also seeks to enhance carbon absorption, help mitigate
the effects of climate change, promote a culture of voluntary
environmental action, and support the transition toward a green
economy.

The event was attended by Zain Jordan Chief Executive Officer Fahad
Al Jassim, Orange Jordan Chief Executive Officer Philippe Mansour,
and Umniah Chief Executive Officer John Delves, along with employees
from the three companies.

Journalists, content creators and social media influencers also took
part in the initiative by planting trees alongside company
representatives.
