Doha, June 29 (QNA) – Qatar’s Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has inaugurated a Pakistani Corner, home to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Legacy Exhibition, highlighting Pakistan’s contribution to world football through the manufacture of the official match ball.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Katara General Manager Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and HE Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the State of Qatar Muhammad Aamer.

The event dedicates a cultural and sporting space to honoring football and displaying TRIONDA, the official match ball of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Addressing the ceremony, HE Ambassador Aamer said the Pakistani city of Sialkot is the world’s leading hub for football manufacturing, producing almost 70 percent of the world’s footballs, including the official match balls for several FIFA World Cups, most recently TRIONDA.

The Ambassador said the industry represents decades of craftsmanship, precision, and innovation, pointing out that it has evolved from traditional manual production to cutting-edge global technologies, thereby helping Pakistani products earn the confidence of major international sporting enterprises.

He said the showcase isn’t confined to the sporting aspect but also relays a cultural message that demonstrates Pakistan’s enduring contribution to the world’s most popular sport and highlights its influential role.

The Ambassador underlined that the initiative represents an opportunity to deepen cultural exchange and showcase a consequential aspect of cultural cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. (QNA)
