Amman, April 20 (Petra) — His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a phone call with European Council President Ant?nio Costa on Monday, called for stepping up international efforts to sustain calm and promote stability in the region.
His Majesty emphasized the importance of sustaining the ceasefire between the United States and Iran to end the war, as well as the need for the ceasefire in Lebanon to bring an end to Israeli aggression, and enable Lebanon to preserve its security and sovereignty.
The call also addressed the importance of Jordan’s humanitarian aid to Lebanon, as well as the Kingdom’s role in coordinating with European countries to facilitate the delivery of their aid to Lebanon.
The King underscored the importance of ending Israel’s attempts to exploit the situation in the region to create new facts on the ground in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza.
The call also touched on ways of building on the strategic partnership between Jordan and the European Union in a number of areas.
