King’s visit to Beijing cements Jordan-China strategic alliance: Chinese Ambassador

Amman, Sept. 16 (Petra) – The Chinese Embassy in Jordan hosted a
reception on Wednesday evening to celebrate the 77th founding
anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.

Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Guo Wei told attendees that His Majesty
King Abdullah II’s state visit to China last month, his ninth
overall, is a “major milestone” following an invitation by Chinese
President Xi Jinping.

The summit resulted in 25 bilateral agreements expanding strategic
cooperation across trade, investment, energy, tourism, the green
economy, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Given Jordan’s skilled talent and strategic position, he added,
Chinese businesses increasingly view the Kingdom as a “golden
gateway” for investment.

The envoy also pointed to strong political alignment, with Jordan
upholding the One China policy and China supporting Hashemite
Custodianship in Jerusalem.

Addressing regional stability, Guo outlined the Chinese president’s
four-point proposal for the Palestinian cause, backing the two-state
solution, governance by Palestinians, and adherence to international
law.

Looking ahead, Amman and Beijing plan to leverage their shared 50th
diplomatic anniversary next year to align China’s 15th Five-Year Plan
with the second phase of Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision,
according to the ambassador.
