Amman, July 11 (Petra) — Ministry of Labor dismissed media reports
on Saturday claiming that a factory in the northeastern governorate
of Mafraq had laid off 4,000 workers, calling the allegations
incorrect.
Mohammad Al-Zyoud, the ministry’s spokesperson, said in a statement
that the only financially distressed factory in Mafraq employs 60
workers, all of whom are Jordanian citizens. He added that the
ministry has been actively monitoring the situation at the facility
for some time.
