Beirut, June 13 (QNA) – The Lebanese Army has evacuated its position in the town of Kfar Tebnit in the Nabatieh District of southern Lebanon, following an Israeli military incursion into the town.

A Lebanese military source told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the army was forced to evacuate its post in the town located about four kilometers from the city of Nabatieh, in order to protect the safety of its servicemen.

Lebanese Army positions and vehicles in southern Lebanon have been subject to Israeli attacks, which left casualties.

The Lebanese Army continues to maintain a presence throughout the Nabatieh Governorate, the source said, without specifying the number of troops deployed there.

The Army has withdrawn from all positions in villages and towns under Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon in order to safeguard its officers and soldiers, the military source further stated, this decision comes amid a significant imbalance of power and continued expansion of Israeli attacks, which have targeted security and military positions and personnel, causing casualties among military ranks.

The source emphasized that the Lebanese Army’s current priority is to strengthen internal stability, amid ongoing political debate in the country regarding direct negotiations with Israel. (QNA)
