Beirut, July 22 (Petra) — Lebanon expressed its full solidarity with
Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, affirming its
support for all measures taken by those countries to defend their
sovereignty and safeguard their security and stability.
In a statement, Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry condemned the recent
Iranian attacks targeting the territories of Jordan, Bahrain and
Kuwait, describing them as violations of those countries’ sovereignty
and a threat to regional security and stability.
The ministry also strongly condemned threats issued by the Houthi
movement against Saudi Arabia, including threats to impose a blockade
on maritime navigation through the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
It said such threats constitute a flagrant violation of international
law and relevant U.N. Security Council resolutions, particularly
Resolutions 2722 (2024) and 2216 (2015).
The ministry reiterated the need to respect freedom of navigation and
fully implement international resolutions in a manner that supports
Yemen’s internationally recognized government and ensures the Houthis
withdraw from areas under their control.
