Maan hosts cancer prevention and environmental health workshop

Maan, Sept. 16 (Petra) — Maan Governorate Headquarters, in
cooperation with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), hosted an
educational workshop titled “Healthy Environment Against Cancer in
Maan,” featuring local civil society organizations and community
members.

The session focused on raising awareness about cancer prevention,
highlighting community efforts to combat the disease, and examining
the links between air pollution, smoking, and cancer risks.

Speakers emphasized the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles,
maintaining physical activity, abstaining from tobacco, and promoting
cleaner air to safeguard public health.

Participants underscored the workshop’s role in improving public
health literacy, stressing that key recommendations will be
translated into field campaigns and community outreach initiatives.

The event forms part of broader efforts to foster health awareness
and strengthen inter-agency partnerships aimed at promoting early
detection, disease prevention, and improved quality of life across
the governorate.
