Amman, Aug. 31 (Petra) — The Malaysian Embassy in Amman held a
reception Monday evening to celebrate Malaysia’s National Day,
attended by Malaysian Ambassador to Jordan Dato’ Muhammad Nasri bin
Abdul Rahman, his wife, embassy staff and their families and members
of the Malaysian community in Jordan.
During the reception, held at the embassy, the Malaysian flag was
raised and national songs were played.
In a speech, Ambassador Abdul Rahman said that Malaysia’s National
Day symbolises unity and the process of nation-building.
He expressed appreciation to the Jordanian staff working at the
embassy for their dedication and for taking part in the celebration.
A group of young Malaysians performed traditional artistic pieces,
after which the ambassador and his wife presented certificates of
appreciation and awards to children and teenagers who participated in
the Malaysian education programme organised by the Malaysian Embassy
Ladies Association in Amman.
