Manchester United Complete Signing of Brazilian Striker
Matheus Cunha
Manchester, 12 Jun (ONA) — Manchester United have
officially announced the signing of Brazilian international forward Matheus
Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a
contract running until June 2030, with an option for a further year.
In a statement published on the club’s official website,
Cunha expressed his determination to make an impact at Old Trafford: “I
will work hard to become an important part of this team and help bring
Manchester United back to the top.”
The Brazilian striker enjoyed a productive 2022/23 Premier
League campaign with Wolves, making 33 appearances while contributing 15 goals
and 6 assists. His arrival comes as United look to rebuild following last
season’s disappointing 15th-place finish, where they accumulated just 42
points.
The transfer represents United’s first major signing of the
summer as they seek to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new EPL season.
Cunha’s EPL experience and goal-scoring record are expected to provide immediate
reinforcement to Erik ten Hag’s squad.
