Singapore, July 3 (QNA) – HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani today held a series of technical meetings with officials from the Ministry of Manpower and relevant authorities in the Republic of Singapore.
During the visit, Her Excellency met with officials from the Workplace Policy and Strategy Division, SkillsFuture Singapore, and the Foreign Manpower Policy Division at Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower.
The meetings explored ways to strengthen and further develop bilateral cooperation between the two countries, while also reviewing Singapore’s experience in labour market policies and strategies, including its workforce development strategy and the policies adopted to prioritise the employment of citizens.
Discussions also covered mechanisms for skills development and aligning training outcomes with labour market needs.
The meetings further addressed Singapore’s work permit system and the key policies and procedures governing the recruitment and employment of foreign workers, with a view to achieving a balanced labour market while enhancing the efficiency of workforce management. (QNA)
