Amman, July 7 (Petra) –Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply
registered 12,449 sole proprietorships in the first half of 2026,
reflecting “robust” business formation and economic activity in
Jordan, its official data showed.
The statistics also revealed registration of 4,991 trade names during
the same period, indicating continued individual business initiatives
and growing interest in launching private projects in the Jordanian
market.
In a statement Tuesday, the ministry said the figures reflect ongoing
efforts to streamline procedures and improve services, supporting the
investment environment and entrepreneurship in line with the Economic
Modernization Vision’s goals of promoting growth and creating jobs.
The ministry said its Commercial Registration Directorate continues
to develop e-services and streamline registration procedures to speed
up transactions, improve efficiency and provide a flexible,
investor-friendly business environment.
It added that the directorate contributes to creating an investment
climate that stimulates industrial, craft and commercial activities,
while facilitating business operations for commercial agents and
brokers.
Additionally, the directorate registers the names of traders and
commercial establishments to strengthen confidence in commercial
transactions, protect the rights of traders and their partners, and
publish rights over movable assets to help buyers and financiers make
informed financing or purchasing decisions.
